Sebra strengthens its market position as Sebra and Leander merge
Two strong Danish design brands will come together in one organisation in Esbjerg when Sebra and Leander merge on 1 October 2026. The merger is intended to strengthen the company’s position in Denmark and internationally.

On 1 October 2026, Sebra and Leander will legally merge and become part of one company. The merger brings together two Danish design brands that both develop products for expectant parents and families with young children, each with its own distinct market position and strengths.
Over the past 22 years, Sebra has built a strong position, particularly in the Nordic markets, with a broad product range for children aged 0–3. The brand is known for Danish design with a focus on quality, functionality and certified materials.
Leander likewise has a strong Danish design tradition and is positioned in a more premium-oriented segment. At the same time, the brand has a strong international presence and a larger share of its business in overseas markets.
The merger is intended to make Sebra a stronger partner in a market where consolidation is taking place across both the retail and supplier sectors.
“With the acquisition of Leander, we are positioning Sebra for international growth. Leander has a number of strong and well-established products that have proven their relevance in the market over many years. These are products with a distinctive design identity that stand out and already hold a strong position among our shared target audience. By bringing them together in one organisation, we gain greater market strength while also being able to offer our retailers a broader and stronger product range. This leaves us better equipped for a market that is changing rapidly,” says Benny Kristiansen, CEO.
One organisation and two strong brands
Leander will retain its existing design identity and positioning but will, going forward, become part of Sebra’s overall brand universe.
For retailers, the merger means continuity in their day-to-day cooperation as well as a stronger foundation for future growth and product development. It creates the opportunity to offer a broader product range to the same overall target audience and provides a single commercial point of contact with the company.
At the same time, employees will be brought together at the headquarters in Esbjerg, where the warehouse operations for the two brands will also be consolidated. The combined organisation will have more than 25 employees and be represented in approximately 40 markets.
The merger also provides an opportunity to consolidate expertise and resources within areas including sales, logistics, warehousing, certifications and compliance. These areas are becoming increasingly important across the international baby and children’s industry, as requirements for documentation and product safety continue to grow.
The company will continue to be owned by the founder of Sebra, Mia Dela Jensen, with Benny Kristiansen as co-owner and CEO.
