Tips for play during the crawling stage
- Create plenty of space for movement and remove small objects so your baby can explore freely and safely.
- Place toys just out of reach to motivate your baby to move forward.
- Use pillows or small obstacles for your baby to crawl over to strengthen coordination and balance.
- Play together on the floor – it provides comfort and encourages your baby to move more.
Choosing the right toys
Offer engaging toys that spark curiosity and invite movement, such as:
- Balls, cars, and toys with wheels that your baby can crawl after.
- Blocks and stacking toys that support fine motor skills.
- Activity toys that inspire curiosity and stimulate the senses.
- Tunnels or soft obstacles for creating small crawling courses.
