Hand-crocheted pull toy shaped like Fanto the elephant – a Sebra classic. Fanto is made from cotton and has recycled polyester filling. Here he is in the classic grey colour. Fanto is an iconic design from Sebra, an elephant who celebrated his 10th anniversary in 2020.

The elephant has two-toned ears and big, cute eyes. The elephant is mounted on a natural coloured, varnished wooden board with four wheels. On each wheel is a clear silicone ring that ensures the protection of delicate floors when the elephant takes a walk. The ring can be removed if necessary. A small cotton drawstring makes it possible to pull the elephant behind you.

When the elephant is not being used for play, it makes a cute decoration in the nursery.

Toys for the Crawling Stage

In the crawling stage, your baby begins to move freely and explore the world independently. Your baby crawls, gets up on all fours, and practices coordinating arms and legs in rhythmic movements. Crawling strengthens your baby’s muscles, balance, and body awareness – paving the way for those very first steps.

Support this development through floor play and toys that motivate your baby to crawl, reach out, and move towards objects of interest.

Tips for play during the crawling stage

  • Create plenty of space for movement and remove small objects so your baby can explore freely and safely.
  • Place toys just out of reach to motivate your baby to move forward.
  • Use pillows or small obstacles for your baby to crawl over to strengthen coordination and balance.
  • Play together on the floor – it provides comfort and encourages your baby to move more.

Choosing the right toys

Offer engaging toys that spark curiosity and invite movement, such as:

  • Balls, cars, and toys with wheels that your baby can crawl after.
  • Blocks and stacking toys that support fine motor skills.
  • Activity toys that inspire curiosity and stimulate the senses.
  • Tunnels or soft obstacles for creating small crawling courses.

Lying Stage

In this stage, the baby lies down. Focus on play that allows the baby to follow toys with their eyes, hear sounds, and feel different textures.

Creeping Stage

In this stage, the baby begins to roll, turn, and move forward on their tummy. Play with toys that motivate the baby to reach out and explore their surroundings.

Crawling Stage

The baby learns to crawl and move freely. Strengthen balance and coordination through floor play with balls, blocks, and small obstacles.

Walking Stage

The baby stands up and takes their first steps. Create space for movement and play where the baby can challenge their balance and explore the world on their own two feet.
